The Problem
Construction schedule specifications are all over the map.  Every year private owners and public agencies tweak their specs to reflect schedule software changes, evolving contract delivery methods, plug holes that cause abuses, address strategies to control claims and reflect the experiences of the individual who happens to be assembling the next set of contract documents.
The Solution
The development of best practices in schedule specifications.  This website will not provide the solution.  The various construction trade associations are charged with that task.  What this website will do is provide resources, report on developments and collect your ideas and feedback.  There are a number of specifications out there that have incorporated innovative ideas, crisp language or comprehensive clauses that merit consideration for best practices.
An Approach  A recommended approach to schedule specification development is to structure a format that separates the administrative best practices that are independent of software capabilities and project types.  Click here or select the Approach menu item for more details.
What you will find at this site.  The primary resource will be links to schedule specs in use today, primarily those of major federal agencies, state governments, DOT and a few private specs that happen to be posted on the Internet.
This website is intended as a resource for development of best practices in construction schedule specifications.  Specifically, it will be employed as an unofficial resource for schedule specification committees of the  Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACEI) and the Project Management Institute College of Scheduling (PMICoS).
Privacy Policy  This is a non-commercial site sponsored by the publishers of Project Controls Online and Construction Claims Online.  Names of participants will not be used for solicitation or otherwise provided to third-party organizations.  From time-to-time, announcements from non-profit trade associations of interests to this audience will be provided.  There is no sign-up required for use of any of the resources on this site.
Volunteer wanted.  A volunteer is sought to set up and administer a discussion forum for this site.  Please respond in the Feedback Form.
